History: Karma was originally born in Little East Blue and he is the son of a marine Rear Admiral named Cathlu Tenma. From a very young age, Karma was inspired by his father to become a marine like him. Cathlu was a prominent marine who was a master swordsman and had many feats under his belt. From a relatively young age, Cathlu had shown his great powers and he had managed to get his rank at the age of 24. Karma, who was 4 years old at that time, watched his father and he dreamed to become like him. Whenever his father would return at his house, Karma would train with him in order to become a master swordsman. When Karma was a very young, he would train with his father with one sword. They would have fights with one swords and they would train until Karma was unable to breath anymore.

As Karma grew up and started mastering his sword style, he started dreaming of learning new sword styles. Apparently, when his father was training with him, he was showing only one of his main styles. Cathlu had great knowledge over the usage of the sword and he was well-known for his unique battling style, the nine swords style. As the time passed, Karma would learn more of his father's achievements... And so, when he was around 15 years old, he finally realized what his dream was. The boy wanted to become a swordsman just like his father... And to form a battling style that would surpass that of his father's.

As soon as he realized what his dream was, Karma immediately joined the marines. Even if his father was a rear admiral, he did not want to use him in order to move through the ranks. As a result, he started from the lowest of the ranks... During his career period, Karma came upon a strange Devil Fruit. Intrigued to see what it was, he ate it, knowing its effects. Apparently, Karma did not know how to swim at all and so eating a Devil Fruit would not cause him any problems. And now, Karma is a prominent Marine Captain who is mastering his Devil Fruit powers and trains his swordsmanship every day in order to surpass his father and his battling style with his own.

Little East Blue Arc

When Karma was promoted to a captain, he was sent to the new marine basement in Little East Blue. There, he was supposed to rule the basement of the small island and protect the island in case a pirate came to attack it. For two weeks, the marine captain was staying at the basement and he was preparing everything. During that time, he was informed that a new recruit who worked with Admiral Nishki in the past, Luis Krieg, was about to come and he waited for him. However, while waiting for him, before he came to the basement, a strange old man in marine clothes came. That man was none other than Vice Admiral Raymond Mountain who came there to inspect the basement. Mistreating the Vice Admiral for the new recruit, Karma accidentally insulted him and their relationship was not good enough. However, things were about to get worse when the island was under attack by the Bang Pirates, a pirate crew that used to raid the small island. At the start, Karma and Luis started taking on the pirates and they seemed to be dealing with them with great ease. The people and the marines were cheering for them and everything seemed fine. On top of that, Raymond came to assist them and after using his Devil Fruit ability to turn into a bronze giant with great strength, he launched a powerful attack against the pirate ship, destroying it easily and ruining the pirate crew with one blow. Only the captain was left conscious and when everybody thought that things were done, he grabbed a girl and threatened to kill her if the island did not provide him with a boat to leave. Angered with the action of the pirate, Karma could not stop himself. He used his Hana Hana no Mi abilities to create a hand on the pirate's body and he grabbed the flintlock he had to shoot him. After shooting him, the pirate fell down unconscious and the girl survived. Even if everything ended up well, though, Raymond was about to punish Karma for his actions so that he would give him a lesson about how he should behave in the battlefield. He took him off his duties as a captain and he decided to send him around the Grand Line with a few more marines from the basement, including Luis. Raymond would be their advisor and their trainer and the crew would sail around the Grand Line, stopping pirates. And so, the new marine crew of Karma, the Justice Gamblers, started working around the Grand Line, after the incident of Little East Blue. During his days on the ship, Karma trained himself more and more and he received a few lessons by the Vice Admiral himself. However, the move that he was being taught was not mastered at all by Karma and so he is unable to use it. Also, he received a form of equipment from the headquarters (a Flame Dial). He still managed to slightly improve his battling style by adding a new move under his arsenal, named "One Sword Style - Burn".

Spa Island Arc

While traveling with Raymond, Luis and a few other marines of his division, Karma moved outside of Spa Island, a technical made island on which people went on vacation. The place was a place where even pirates used to go, however, it used to be a peaceful place nonetheless. Even if that went on, though, while the crew was sailing out of the island a call was received via a Den Den Mushi. The man behind the line was asking for help. It seemed like the island was under attack. As soon as he listened to that, Karma decided to go to the island in order to find out what was going on. With Raymond's help, the gate for the island was opened and soon enough the crew reached the island. There, what they saw was something that shocked most of them. The place was annihilated and any people who were on the island seemed to have been murdered by somebody. Luis inspected the place and realized that the humans were not killed long before. Soon, he started searching the place and the men he found were two men that surprised him. They were two centaurs which with one of them carrying a gun and another one carrying two swords. While talking to them, the marines realized that those two were the culprits and so a battle between the two of them against Karma and Luis started with Raymond to watch over how they would act. By tagging well together, Karma and Luis managed to finally defeat the centaurs. Karma managed to cut down the swordsman while Luis managed to cut down the other one who was carrying a gun. However, as soon as they got defeated, their boss, who was watching the battle revealed himself. He was a pirate with a bounty of 30,000,000 Beli, named Ino Lan. He had twice their size and he was a lion centaur. He was carrying a large ax. After introducing himself, Luis attempted to shoot him but by using his Devil fruit ability, he opened an air door from which the bullet passed through without hitting him. Then, the centaur used another door, hiding himself. Karma expected him to appear behind Luis but he did not. Instead, he opened a door below the marine soldiers, which dragged them in a parallel space. Then, he reappeared soon, claiming that he had slain them and a battle between himself started against Karma and Luis. During the battle, the marines seemed to be having great trouble. However, in the end, after combining their strengths and their abilities to beat him down, they did so. Karma grabbed one of the katanas of the swordsman he defeated before and he performed a new technique to cut down Ino and finally defeated him. By defeating him, a door opened from which the marine soldiers came out, quite damaged but still alive. The medics took care of them and the men were sent back to the basement of Little East Blue to recover, while Karma, Raymond, Luis and the other marines would still continue traveling. The time they traveled afterwards, Karma also continued training on the move that the Vice Admiral was trying to teach him and he improved at using it, although he was not good enough at using it. Moreover, he trained his two sword style in order to become better at using it. Finally, because with his great efforts he managed to capture a pirate with a bounty of 30,000,000 Beli, he was promoted to a Commodore.

Goat Island Arc

While still traveling with the Justice Gamblers, Karma passed near from Goat Island. The place was an island that was thought to be a desert island as only goats were only living on it. While passing near the island, Karma asked one of his subordinates what the place was and he found out this information. As a result, he decided to search the island for pirates as this was the perfect place for a pirate to hide. The crew moved to the island and set a camp. There, Karma decided to go for some training while two other members of the marine force, Oga Ethan and Luis, were dispatched to the other sides of the island to investigate. Vice Admiral Raymond Mountain and the other members would stay at the camp in order to protect the place. While Karma was training, he received a call via a Den Den Mushi that something suspicious was going on as Oga encountered a bunch of giant goats. However, before he could close the phone call, the communications were shut off and at the same time the other members of the crew who were dispatched at the other sides of the island were attacked by two pirates; Den Den and Mr. Ball, members of a powerful rookie pirate crew. A fight between Luis against Den Den started and between Oga against Mr. Ball. The fights were difficult for both of them, but eventually they managed to outsmart their enemies and defeat them with one or another way. However, they were both quite injured. While they were fighting, Karma also found that some marines were on the island. He immediately understood that they were corrupted and they started a fight that finished quickly when Vice Admiral Raymond appeared and defeated their boss, who was a Rear Admiral. Everybody then decided that they would have to reunite at the basement and organize a plan in order to search the captain of the enemies. At the same time, the captain of the pirates, Hercules Pierrot, was informed by his assistant, Yonitai Berbera, about the events that took place on the island as he was not the one who was watching over the place at that time. In order to bring an end to the marines, Hercules and Yonitai called Goid, a powerful swordsman who was hired by them in order to slay their enemies. When the Justice Gamblers reunited, they discussed their plan and decided to attack in the night while Luis and Oga would stay behind. All the marines except the two of them and another marine would stay behind, as the marine would have to watch over the corrupted marines that were captured. Karma rushed inside the island's forest by himself, as well as Raymond and the others sticked together. However, after a while, Karma received a call. It was from Capoeira, a man who was serving under him. He said that he was the only one who survived the attack of a swordsman before he was cut down by a mysterious assailant who was none other than Goid. Goid grabbed the Den Den Mushi and mocked Karma and Karma swore that he would find him and kill him for messing with his subordinates, even if he was against killing. Goid accepted the challenge and he started heading towards his direction so that the two of them would start a clash. Meanwhile, Raymond encountered Yonitai... The time passed and Oga and Luis woke up. They did not find anybody at the basement except from the people who were captured. The marine who was assigned to protect them was gone. As a result, the two of them headed to different directions and started searching around the island as well. However, even if that happened, both of them eventually ended up together and found themselves engaged in a combat against two giant goats. A short battle started and they killed the goats. Seeing that more strange things were going on, they decided to return back at the basement where they were shocked to see that Yonitai had captured Raymond and was about to execute him. A battle between them started against the enemy but was quickly put to an end when the captain, Hercules, appeared in front of them for the first time. While these were going, Karma found Goid and the battle between them started. Goid proved to be an extremely powerful opponent for Karma as he was a fruit user as well and had many techniques under his arsenal. Even if Karma managed to perform a good movement, Goid would surpass him as he was faster than him. The clash between them was a great clash of two swordsmen but in the end, Karma finally defeated him by performing a technique that he mastered recently and was not too sure about using; the signature Soru technique of Vice Admiral Raymond, which he was trying to learn ever since they started traveling together. With Goid defeated, Karma grabbed his sword and moved back towards the basement as he had a bad feeling. And he was right. When he arrived he looked at the scene and tried to assist his comrades who were being overpowered by Hercules. Goats appeared at the place and the boss explained his plan. He was making the goats giant in order to turn them into powerful weapons and he was receiving the assistance of the corrupted marines in his plan. The battle started and in the end the Justice Gamblers managed to win with an unexpected assistance; Yonitai revealed himself to be an undercover government and explained that he did not really capture Raymond. It was a plan to lure Hercules to Raymond without having him understand that Yonitai was an undercover agent so in case the plan failed, he would still keep his position as an assistant. Also, the marine at the basement was in the plan as well and that was why he had disappeared. He was away in order to be protected by the clash of Raymond and Hercules that Yonitai expected. In the end, everything ended up for good... And after that, the crew left from the place. However, Karma took a decision. He decided to leave from the crew and start sailing as an independent marine, hoping that one day he would become a greater swordsman than his father and regain his position as the head of the marine basement at the Little East Blue island in the Grand Line.

Lonely Swordsman Arc

After leaving the Justice Gamblers in order to sail the seas by himself and train himself more in order to become a stronger swordsman and marine, Karma ended up on another island of the Grand Line where he was relaxing a little bit from all those travels he made. However, while he was relaxing, he did not know that fate had other plans for him. On the same island there was a marine called Daruki, with the assignment to chase after two pirates with a bounty on their heads; The pirate Santo, with the bounty of 55,000,000 beri and his friend Jiwang. While Daruki was searching for them on the island, he actually fell on Karma. Due to Karma being one of the incoming big names in the marine force, he was immediately recognized by Daruki. His face was somewhat known to the force and he could not hide by the majority of the marines. Most lower class marines would know a few things about him, such as his face and his rank. After all, the fact that he climbed the rankings of the navy force that fast, was a notable achievement for everybody and especially for lower class marines who looked up to people like Karma. Upon meeting Karma, Daruki immediately explained him the reasons of his presence on the island. He explained that he was after Santo and Jiwang and Karma reluctantly agreed to help him. Apparently, even if he was a marine, he was taking his time to relax on that island... He did not want to deal with pirates, especially pirates that he did not know many things about. He did not know whether Santo and Jiwang were people who should actually be arrested for being pirates. After all, there were many pirates around the world who did not deserve having bounties on their heads and they were wanted because they were just doing things which were annoying only for several officers of the world government. Despite that, before he could actually make his personal investigation, Jiwang and Santo met Daruki and Karma. Daruki immediately attacked Jiwang and in order to defend himself from the two marines, Santo, who was also a swordsman, challenged Karma. An epic battle between the two started and the two swordsmen attacked each other with everything they had. Karma started with only one of his katanas, yet he understood that he could not do a lot against Santo like that. He was even wound by the enemy, to the point that a scar would be left on his chest. Then, he was forced to unsheathe his second sword, but with that they were evenly matched. That was not enough to overpower Santo and defeat him. As a result, Karma took a risk. He unsheathed his third sword, the one he took from Goid on Goat Island and he attempted a Three Swords Style. With that, he finally managed to show that he could overpower Santo. Santo was at his limits and he launched his strongest attack on Karma, which the marine would destroy by focusing all his powers; with combinations of his fruit abilities and his swordsmanship, Karma managed to increase the strength of his slashes by creating more arms to grab his swords, resulting in an increase at his cutting power. However, when Karma was about to start his counter attack after unsheathing his third sword, he noticed that Santo was gone. Seeing the difficult situation, Jiwang grabbed him and dropped him in the sea. Being a fruit user, Karma was unable to follow them. And so, the marine fell on the ground to relax after the intense battle, wishing to meet Santo once again so that they would have a rematch and settle things once and for all. Not as a marine and a pirate but as two fellow swordsmen. And now, Karma keeps traveling by himself in order to train himself some more and master his Three Swords Style, in order to return back at his duties as the captain of the Justice Gamblers unit.

Personality: Karma was raised by his father to become a great marine and an expert swordsman in order to protect any innocent people from the threat of the piracy. He is a marine who is working for the innocent and he treats himself as a hero who fights for justice. He believes in Moral Justice and he is not willing to sacrifice innocent people or his subordinates to complete a mission and he will not kill any pirates who do not possess any threat for the people and have not really committed a crime. According to his point of view, those are simply a bunch of people who are playing pirates and they are not really pirates and so he has no right to kill them. Instead, he just cuffs them and hands them in the authorities. However, if he is about to fight a pirate who has at least killed a person, he starts taking them on more seriously and he will not hesitate to kill them to secure the justice.

As for his behavior towards his subordinates, he is a kind hearted captain. If they do any mistakes he will not try to make them apologize and he will instantly forgive them. Also, he likes talking to his crew mates to find out any possible problems they might have and he is eager to listen to them whatever they have to say. If his opinion contradicts that of his crew mates, he will try to find a solution that satisfies both of the sides. However, if he is completely sure that he is right, he might yell at them in order to prove that he is right, even if that normally is not working. Finally, if his crew mates do something that contradicts his moral justice, he might get in trouble with them. That is why he is picky with the people that join his division and who are under his own command.

Finally, his overall personality is that of a cheerful person who likes working a lot and protecting the innocents. Also, he likes poker and that can be seen in the names of his techniques. That trait of his has also earned him the epithet "Poker Face".

Devil Fruit: Hana Hana no Mi
Type: Paramecia
Effect: The Hana Hana no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to replicate and sprout pieces of their body from the surface of any object or living thing. "Hana" (花) is the Japanese word for "bloom" and "flower", and reflects the nature of the user's power to sprout their body parts like a blooming flower. Whenever the parts sprout from a chosen surface, pinkish-white petal-like particles also seem to originate and then swirl away from where they sprouted, as well as around the user itself, further giving emphasis to the Devil Fruit's name; the parts seem to remain on the location from which they bloomed for as long as the user wills otherwise and also does so in a dissipating manner, also with the petals being manifested as they vanish.

Special Abilities:
-Superhuman Speed: The many years of daily training, made Karma get great speed that surpasses that of normal humans. Until recently, he was unable to run as fast as Soru users. He was considerably slower than them. However, after traveling with Vice Admiral Mountain, he learned how to perform the Soru technique and he increased his strength to the point that now he can be considered a superhuman in terms of speed.
-One Sword Style: Karma has seen many different styles but currently the only one he can use is the One Sword Style. Karma was trained by his father for almost 20 years and so he knows how to use the sword to create an air blade and how to slash his enemies. Karma has a regular stance when he is not performing any techniques. He carries the sword with his right arm. The right arm is points straight downwards, while he carries the sword lightly. The sword's edge is also slightly pointing downwards.
-Two Sword Style: Although Karma never mastered this battling style, he made a last resort attempt to use it while he was battling the captain of the Centaur Pirates, Ino Lan. He took the katana of one of the centaur pirates and placed it on his left hand, creating his own two sword style. Moving the swords while using the two sword style is as easy as using one sword in the one sword style. However, because he is used to fighting with only one sword, he cannot synchronize the movements of both arms. As a result, he uses this sword style to perform consecutive attacks. Despite this, he is able to perform all the techniques he has in his One Sword Style with both swords with efficiency. After the incident of Goat Island, though, and his battle with Goid, Karma trained himself enough and he finally mastered his Two Swords Style. As a result, he now has new techniques under his arsenal with the usage of his two swords.
-Three Sword Style: After defeating Goid on Goat Island, Karma took his katana and ever since that time, he kept traveling with it. As a result, when Karma found out during his battle against Santo that he was unable to overpower Santo with his two swords, he decided to unsheathe his third katana for the first time. When he unsheathed it, he showed that he could actually overpower Santo, but the battle quickly ended with Santo's escape. After the battle, Karma started training this battling style and then he developed a few new techniques. Even if he hasn't mastered this style yet, he's quite proficient at the usage of the three swords.

Edited: I added History, the "One Sword Style - Burn" attack and the weapon "Poker Master" which basically is his previous normal katana with a flame dial.

Edited: Updated the history with the Spa Island Arc, promotion to a commodore for defeating a pirate with a bounty of 30,000,000 Beli who caused much trouble and updated the weapons. Also, I added Two Sword Style in special abilities and update the techniques with the Two Sword Style technique. And a new appearance was added (Commodore Appearance).
